That request has been around for a long time and I always just assumed
things were done better on non-win32 platforms. So the answer is an
emphatic "Yes Please!".

Unforutnately it seems that the gtk version simply doesn't allow editing
of the drop down boxes at all, nor does it activate the drop down if you
click anywhere on the box. (If the box is not being used for editing then
it should use the whole box to provide a bigger active target area.)
