Subject: Word10 (Word for XP) file format

I have heard that the internal format of Word for XP is different than that
of Word 2000, something about how the pointer that used to indicate the
location of 512 blocks of data in fast-saved files is different or
apparently missing.
If this is so, it has implications regarding filters, of course. Does
anyone have more information on this? The MSDN site was.... unhelpful.
