Other people have been managing the website, but this sounds like an
excellent idea to me. I try to remember to flag FAQ fodder when I send
email, but I'm not sure that automatically mirroring filtered mailing list
posts to the website is a very good idea.
Thus, I suspect a better route is to have someone with sense and writing
talent decide when and how to convert various FAQ fodder into website
content.
Any volunteers?

Agreed. I believe that a decent subset of these were in the code
guidelines, but a lot of good content gets filed away in the mailing list
archives where only Google can find it.
